There are loads of video's on this, but one is by Sandy Munro. Sandy was Chief Engineer for Ford and now runs a business teaching new car companies how to compete with the large manufacturers.

There is quite a lot of info here for the informed, but one thing really stands out. It is the one piece castings which make up the front and rear of the vehicle being made in Texas. It is not until the end of the video that Sandy shows the before and after which shows the number of parts and amount of welding to make the original front are rear, then the amount of aluminium and the single part they use with the new castings.

For additional info, the current Model Y being made in Shanghai and Fremont only has a rear casting. Yet Tesla churned out nearly half a million of them last year. Also they don't have a structural battery pack.

Musk said, in his address, that 2022 was about massive scale and 2023 was about huge product changes. If you are aware of what Sandy is talking about, you can see how the massive scale will come in.

Oh and I forgot. You also get to see the Cybertruck. Tesla's take on what the pickup truck of the future, in electric mode, should look like. The cybertruck will come in 300 mile and 500 mile variants and will also sport 240v electrical outlets.

Whilst Tesla continues to churn out the high volume vehicles of the future, this work also bears the seeds of the future low cost EV that people can really afford but still has sufficient range to be feasible. Think better than my old Mini 1000 which had a 10gal tank and did 30mpg.

If you don't know much about Tesla but are interested, watch the intro, it explains all the factories and the major new products. However if you watch nothing else, watch the drone show. I'm guessing that is going to become a feature for more than just Tesla. It was incredible.
