In the job five mins and already snout in the trough.

Cumbria's police and crime commissioner, Richard Rhodes, has claimed £700 for TWO trips! Where the hell did he go - Paris?

It is bad enough that he had the gall to claim, but three people have been arrested for making his "theft" known.

He has apologised, of course, so that's all right then.

Personally I would lock him up and throw the key away.

Sit down, WM and make sure there is nothing throwable in grabbing distance.

Mark Burns-Williamson, Castlefordian plank and God help us, the Police Commissioner for West Yorkshire, has started hiring staff.
He has hired a Deputy Police Commissioner on a salary of £54,000 pa. She is a Labour councillor.
He has also, in the last couple of days, hired a "Director of Research" on £41,000 pa. He is also a Labour councillor (from Newcastle).
As the late Tommy Cooper might have said, trough, snout - snout, trough.

Doubtless the mighty Burns-Williamson Empire will grow apace, and equally doubtlessly every one of them will have "appropriate" political views.

Predictable or what?

What! I applied for that post when he was only offering £37k. I told him that I was determined to research who was doing what, when and for how much so that local tax payers could be kept informed.

He never even replied.

Just giving this a bump because there has been a further development. Richard Rhodes, the Police Commisioner for Cumbria has apologised fornot publishing his expenses and for spending £700 on a chauffeur driven Merc to go to two engagements.
But now the interesting bit from today's "Telegraph".
"Cumbria Police searched a property and arrested three people, two of them civilian workers for the force, after information was leaked to the local press".
This is the world we are heading into. Where anyone talking to the press and embarassing one of the elite or their friends, is going to be arrested, or sacked from their job, or disciplined.

eta - Just seen that WM had this in his original post! Ooops.

Are you surprised? Honest people might investigate him.....

You should have replied that you would build monumental spreadsheets and databases which will PROVE, beyond all doubt, that his approach to crime is reducing violent crime and give him endless statistics to use in his political debates proving his worth. Thus firmly cementing his snout in the trough and keeping his job for a LONG time.

Then, when you had the job, you could have investigated him and become a whistle blower....

Sorry my sense of humour is lacking this week. Who'd have guessed..... :(

Probably by appointment by the sounds of things... But, you know, you just have to use the right words. Whatever the truth of the matter.
