Paperless Banking

Postby TheOstrich » 05 Nov 2024, 21:24

I cannot now access my on-line banking without being told that I'm going paperless, whether I like it or not.
Well I'm sorry, I prefer paper bank statements through the post, and I only use online banking because they've closed the local branch and I've no other way of efficiently making certain payments.
So now when I go into online banking, I have to reset all the communication preferences back to receiving paper.
Right pain in the backside.
Why don't they just leave things alone? Those folk that are happy with paperless, fine, go paperless. Us oldies who prefer paper, leave us alone and stop forcing us into a change we don't want.

(This is the second major bank where I've hit this problem, but at least the first didn't change me to paperless every time I logged on .......)

Hmmm, my bank, Virgin Money, has gone paperless but at least I can download my statements as a .pdf so that I can print them off for my records.

I can login as normal without any problems and then view my statements, or print them off. There is little pressure to use an 'app' and only have things in the cloud or online. It works for me.

I suppose it depends upon your bank.

The only problem that I do have is that if I want to transfer money there is an online limit per transaction, but if I use the phone 'app'. and that will never happen, it is open ended. Seems strange.... use secure online via a static home computer and be restricted or use an insecure app on a mobile phone anyone can get their hands on.

Ah well.
