After Stockport the police are now caught between two stools.

Stockport led to misinformation and that led to riots, so in Liverpool they were quick to announce that it was a 53 year old British and local man in the hope of keeping things calm.

But what if the next one is a middle eastern ethnic and immigrant - legal or illegal?

Will they do a Stockport or a Liverpool? Whichever way they go there will be problems.

I think that they will have to release details of ethnicity etc now that they have in the Liverpool case.
If they don't, people will immediately assume the worst and distrust of the authorities will increase even further.
