So Syria is disarming her chemical weapons

Postby Suff » 11 Oct 2013, 12:22

But who is aware that 7 of the 19 or so locations are in rebel hands?

What do we do when the Nobel prize winning team certify Syria has handed over all weapons in their control.

And there is another attack.

I hear nothing about any pressure being applied to the rebels to hand over their stocks.

If there is another attack, will the West join in with Syria to destroy the rebels? Or will they be cast iron hypocrites???

Food for thought...... Also food for consideration as to who may be playing a very long game indeed. The west is as predictable as Pavlov's dogs. The Russians know this and have some very, very able strategists.

I do wonder sometimes.

There are some rather telling omissions from the West's news and information services, aren't there?

We know that Syria has handed over a comprehensive list of its CW and facilities to the UN with the US acknowledging the deed in a "We told you so" way.

We know that the destruction of the production and delivery systems has begun - we have the pictures. But they are from safe Assad controlled areas.

We are not that well informed about the weapons and facilities under the control of the opposition forces except that a member of OPCW said: “It may be that we are not in a position to go to some of these locations. We are not a military unit.” That quote was kept fairly quiet.

We have little knowledge about the rag-tag armies of the opposition, nor what they actually want. What are their different end games?

If OPCW does clear up all the weapons and facilities under Assad's control, but cannot get to those in opposition control, then what?

Will we be told what type and how much/many CW the opposition has. The information will be known as the UN has already stated the Assad has handed over a comprehensive list. Will we be told which factions are in control of them? Will we ever be able to verify their existence never mind destroy them? But most importantly, what will we do about them?

Agree with everything but the last part.

The most important thing is will we ever see them again and if we do will it be on the receiving end???

Personally I would say that it is vitally important that we get the rebels to give those weapons and facilities up. Now, today, immediately. Or we should destroy the rebels.

That is my take.
