I'm a Catholic as you know, my hubby is an atheist. Never been a problem in this house. It's all about mutual respect and we all have to take that out into the wider world.

I am also an Atheist, Loz, and what I irked me is that these 'Atheists' were being disrespectful.

If they wanted a piss-up just say "It's party time" and get on with it. Don't pretend to be a 'religion', and don't insult the beliefs of others. They would not have got away with it as far as Diwali, Hanukkah or Ramadan is concerned - and rightly so.

I do not like religion, any religion, but I do accept that they play an important part in many people's lives; and that all cultures are based on some form of religious belief.
