The token woman show.

Postby Workingman » 09 Feb 2014, 14:52

Danny Cohen, the BBC's director of TV has said, "We're not going to have panel shows on any more with no women on them,"

How stupid can some men be?

He has blurted it out to the whole wide world and it has gone down like a lead balloon in some quarters. Victoria Wood, Jo Brand, Caitlin Moran and others have declared that they will not play the part of the "token" woman. Good for them. What Danny should have done is quietly veto lots of all-male panels over a period of time so that the token woman issue would never take effect.

If he really wanted to get on his soapbox to spice up some panel shows he could have shouted out, "We are immediately going to do away with the same tired old faces cropping up on every show known to man."
