I think I have seen newspaper articles with photos of such discriminatory notice as Debih mentioned however Cromwell, and such things did really go on! Do you really believe they didn't?
No problem Kaz; I honestly don't care too much if such signs were put up in the 1950's or not.
But the Rotherham scandal we shoud all care about, as I'm sure we all do. Not only for the abuse, but for the PC attitudes that infest public sector senior management that have allowed this abuse to go on for so long.
Ossie's point about the abusers is a good one. Only 5 people have been convicted and another 30 are being investigated; but if 1,400 girls have been abused, there must be a hell of a lot more abusers floating about.
Lastly, it's been pointed out that South Yorkshire Police can raid Cliff Richard's house on one allegation of child abuse dating back to 1985 - but they have ignored the "industrial scale" abuse of young white girls by Pakistani men right on their own doorstep!
