The choice was to leave or remain. We voted to leave. If there is a good deal to be had that then is a bonus. Otherwise we should just leave. There are too many politicians who would prefer to remain and thwart the result of the referendum. They are more than content to muddy the waters in the hope of wearing down those who voted leave.

My referendum options post was TIC.

I voted Remain, but I accept the result of the ref and we lost. I could live, uncomfortably, with a clean Brexit. Unfortunately that is not and never will be, an offer, certainly not with the current crew.

Even the major backers of Leave, Peter Hargreaves, Jeremy Hosking and Stuart Wheeler, as well as Aaron Banks, are now saying that to Remain, at present, is the best option. If we do we can always go for a proper Brexit in the future. If we leave with May's deal we are stuck and nobody, anywhere, knows how it will pan out.

They had high hopes and spent a lot of money to fund the campaign. They say they would rather remain than accept the Theresa May's deal. My guess is that they would prefer a no deal of the two options.

I agree with your assessment Meds, but what that tells me is they think a 'no deal' is well and truly off the table. How that can be is unclear, but maybe they know something the public does not.

Possibly. Or maybe they have lost faith that 100 solid Tory Brexit MP's plus another 100 wish washy Brexit Labour MP's can push a No Deal through.

This is quite interesting because the ONLY thing that needs to happen, to ensure a Brexit No Deal, is for the government to be paralysed for the next 3 1/2 months and no decisions of any kind to be made on it.

Clearly that is not going to happen and that means Breixt is being "used" for other ends. Nice to know you can trust your politicians.

I do recall being fairly positive about the DUP. Whilst everyone was bemoaning the "most horrible" DUP for being KingMakers I mentioned the fact that if May were to come back with some EU forced and unacceptable deal, that the DUP would sink it.

Right now the DUP has said it will sink the bill but if it comes to a vote of confidence, right after, they will support the government. Which makes the whole "Labour will take the government" stance somewhat untenable.

That having been said, if the government did fall, I'd suspect that Corbyn's dislike of the EU would run a very low second to governing the country without having won an election...
