Oh please!!  Who do I believe about this? Politicians, or doctors? Or you? :?  Oh, and if you think I want to believe that any of this stuff might happen then you couldn't be more wrong. It's a nightmare scenario.

I'll just tell my friend Rob, whose FB post that was, that he needn't worry about his cancer treatment, despite what his doctor and many other top doctors are saying, as it's just project fear, and he's been had, shall I? I'm seeing him on Friday, so I'll let you know his reply - if it's printable.

Suff, talk about missing the point and going off on a tangent.

The issue for some patients with no-deal is not about the overall market, whether that be numbers, volumes or costs. It is with the supply chains for those medicines with special requirements, like cold storage, short shelf lives or personalised medicines containing DNA, and especially those not produced in the UK.

Tens, possibly hundreds of thousands, of us are alive solely because of these treatments. And when specialists administering these treatments come out and say, unequivocally and backed up by the government's own advice, that there will be problems I am inclined to believe them over some bean counter's 'market' spreadsheet.

As Kaz, and others have said, this is not about money or ideology it is about lives, ordinary people's lives.

Oh great! Allopurinol, Cetirizine, Co-codamol, Lansoprazole and Losartan are on the list that I take regularly.

I can probably get along without Cetirizine, Lansoprazole and Losartan, but I have already made dietary changes to reduce my need for them, so I would just have to put up and shut up.

With Allopurinol (gout) and Co-codamol (pain relief) I am stuck. Gout from a kidney problems, a stone when I was only 13, and pain from a plate in my back and I cannot take NSAIDs, so nothing to be done about either.

Some of those drugs listed are already in short supply and have been so for at least 9 months - that's not due to Brexit but everything to do with global pharma company profiteering, as we have discussed on another thread. I know because I have already been encountering those shortages myself.

I'm not saying that there will not be shortages of some medications due to Brexit, and critical ones at that, but please don't assume that Brexit is the root cause of all those shortages.

Just sayin'

Hope you're right Ossie!

I take Lansoprazole too Frank, and my hydrocortisone cream is listed, but more of a worry to me is that Mick's Ramipril for his blood pressure is on there :(

Frank, the only one I take off that list is Cetirizine so I've just ordered a year's supply from Amazon for £6.45. I usually get them from there anyway but get 3 months worth at a time and the last lot I had are dated sometime in 2021.
