Its not NHS England Deb because its not happened at our surgery but I am intrigued.

Are you on System One? Do you mean each patient has been allocated a group and its marked on their records?

We are EMIS MM. and yes, each patient has been allocated a group and it’s marked on an alert on their records.

It definitely wasn’t there yesterday and no one at the surgery had done it.

The same thing happened overnight with patients who were at high risk to Covid.

Unfortunately today the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued targeted advice to those who have had significant allergic reactions to medicines, food or other vaccines not to take the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid jab.

This follows reactions in two NHS workers following the jab. Their conditions were not thought to be serious and both are fine, but better to be safe than sorry.

It is not thought to be a big issue, but with the prevalence of allergies we have in society today, and for all sorts of things, it is probably wise to be cautious. It is a known risk for 1:1000 so relatively small but for an individual it is a balance between risk v benefits.

One of our GP’s is very high up in the medical world (lots of zoom meetings with government have taken place over the last few months) and he told us that whilst they are doing the first x number of vaccines they want a crash team on site. Just in case.

We start next Tuesday but a lot of our surgeries are doing them in their network hubs at community centres etc

It is quite interesting that the Pfizer vaccine has already hit issues with allergies.

Clearly it was not tested as thoroughly as it could have been.

In my reading of the Oxford vaccine, it was tested on varying cases including Hiv and severe allergic reactions.

We should see vaccines ramp up as the weeks roll on.

Ours are being done at hubs too MM. to start with at least. Chesterfield hospital started on Tuesday and then the local nursing homes are being done next week. I’m not sure when the local hub starts.

I was wondering how they are going to do the housebound and who will do them.
