Those fuzzy little blobs in some parts of the picture are not stars out of focus they are deep space galaxies and it would have taken Hubble weeks to have caught them.

Hubble has discovered a star for Webb to look at.

At 12.9bn years for its light to reach us it is the oldest star ever discovered and is known as Earendel. At 50 times the mass of the Sun it is a whopper!

I did a search for why, if the galaxy is only 13.9bn years old, it can be 42bn light years across.

The answer is fascinating but also tells us that there are stars out there which are so far away and we are moving apart so fast, that their light will never reach us before the galaxy collapses.

These stars are our best chance to look so far back in time. Should be an interesting view when Webb is fully calibrated.

I watched a programme by Jim Al-Khalil a few months back and various astronomers on there already think that the Universe's visible horizon has already been reached.

There are things out there that we will never know anything about.

It blows my mind just trying to comprehend that. I know that is is true, physics says so, but even so...
