I live in Wigan. M&S closed about thre years ago. They have opened a food only outlet on a retail park with free parking.
On Saturday a stall in the market which sold cooked meats sandwiches and cakes closed. The who;e market will be closed next year
as the site is being redeveloped with a bowling alley, hotel, car park and cinema. The market is being moved to a new location.
On what was the main shopping street there are several cafes opticians a B & M and Wilko. Also banks. The main post office
is now at the end of a long arcade. It is a dead end as Debenhams used to be at the end.
I only go in to the bank and the veg stall in the market.
The town centre had died
