They should just sell it off, levy a small charge on advertising for all broadcast companies to replace the TV license and have done with it.

Then there is no appointment, no conflict and no government interference.

Of course there is no convenient little mouthpiece which is able to be leant on by government too. But life sucks right?

I would rather pay the licence and have no patronising "diversity" adverts evey ten minutes as with the commercial channels. Yes, I know that the BBC is riddled with "diversity", but all luvvie outlets are.

The appointments for top staff can always be made non-political by means of a politics-free independent panel. Even better if people outside the * "tents and farts" bubble could be involved.

* Ents & Arts buttons on the likes of Sky and the BBC. ;)
