Effectively our borders are already open, imo.
It's a matter of political will. Hungary and Poland both have it. We don't.

It's what happens when you take back control and then don't use it.

It's not civil servant money to spend it's government money so they don't care because they don't pay it back

Things that go wrong are never the Conservatrive government's fault. They are down to the unions, civil servants, Labour, Judges, the spiders from Mars...

The Cons and their supporter's mantra is: "When we fail blame someone else."

Now that is an acute observation.
Our politicians, it seems to me, run away from responsibility. They would like to be back in the EU because then they can blame everything on the EU.
They won't do anything about the boat people because it would "Breach our international obligations". We want our own laws, but they won't have it.
Sunak ditched Raab's Bill of Rights; he scrapped plans to dump EU laws.

They could, if they wanted to, enact our own laws. Be responsibe for their own decisions.
But they don't want to be.

I think people are sick of our political class, and in particular the Conservatives.

It has been going on for decades, possibly longer.

Thatcher destroyed society because she did not believe in it. Major was blancmange. Blair and Brown (Tory lite) did nothing to reverse it. Cameron and Clegg - oh dear!? May was another blancmange, then we got the Johnson, Truss and now Sunak.

The horizon does not look too good. Can anyone, anywhere, see a statesman or woman to lead us? Most MPs are corporatists, lawyers or PPE graduates with no life experience.

We need someone with fire in their belly who thinks not of their own rewards but those of the people they represent. I can't see it happening in my lifetime, not without a revolution

They haven't had anyone else in power to be sick of for quite a while now.

This will change and we can see just how quickly they can be sick of the others.

Someone who will tell it like it is and then get on with doing it. The all talk, no action, Conservative Party has had its day.
