The end game is that services and employment morph to a different model.
Why does everyone assume that when one pillar of the employment baseline fundamentally changes that every other pillar will remain the same?
You can't spend your whole life living in fear. No progress will ever happen then.
In the 50's to 70's people were happy to embrace change and expectations were high. But as we worked through the sheer level of technology required to deliver those expectations, plus an ever more strident Sci-Fi movie genre trying to make money by producing scary but unlikely movies, people have become much more resistant to the major change which will transition our existence.
If you were able to go back to 1800 before the powered looms and steam engines, trains, internal combustion engines, jet engines, passenger flights; people were 99% intolerant bigots compared to today.
Our society has been broken down and re-made dozens of times.
This is just another instance. The main difference is that this time everyone is connected and everyone can see what is going on. Personally I'm happy to let it unfold.
