I understand the anger and frustration yet I also understand that there are upsides and downsides to not voting.

If voting intention polls are anything near accurate we could end up electing a government supported by fewer than one in five to seven of us and that would be a bad thing for democracy: very bad.

On the other hand we could end up with hung parliament after hung parliament and endless coalitions. That could lead to the introduction of PR and for me that would be a good thing.

On balance maybe not voting could force the reform our constitution and parliament desperately need.

I will always vote, as I feel the franchise was so hard won it would be wrong for me not to, but I'm allowed if I know who for this time :? So I do understand people that say they won't! xxx
