It seems the triple lock will be staying (for the moment anyway). Apparently this was agreed between the PM and the Chancellor before prime ministers questions. It is very annoying when television announcers keep saying that pensioners get £185 per week. This is the new state pension but many pensioners are on the old state pension which is £141.85 for a full pension, and not everyone gets that, particularly women. I don't see how any Government can justify this big difference between the old state pension and the new state pension.

Yes, it is a big relief. However, the government was forced into it as to not do so would have been a big vote loser, and very many pensioners vote for the Cons. The truth is that it should never have been dropped in the fist place - the cuts of the past two years have already happened and will never be recovered.
