I agree with both sides.
He should have come back, if only to show solidarity with his staff who were dealing with the problems, he is the head of the organisation after all.
As for him, Royalty, politicians, Archbishops and other interested parties turning up at the scene at the hight of the crisis. No! Stay away! You are more trouble than you are worth.
The same goes for the number of news crews and journalists, as well as "rubber neckers" with their smartphone cameras. One crew allowed in, with the images syndicated to all other news outlets kept well away from the immediate vicinity. There were shots the other day of Kay Burley being taken round York in a dinghy pulled by the emergency services so that "we could see for ourselves". Stupidity of the 1st degree.
