Reading the BBC reporting of Cameron’s attempt to win the referendum by stuffing it to the EU and coming back with more UK “opt out’s”, it is abundantly clear that the BBC wants two things. They want to be good positive EU people and support the IN campaign, but at the same time they hate Cameron and want to do him down at every possible turn.

The conflict is both amusing and worrying. You can see the laboured painful steps they are going through to Support Cameron on EU reform, to help the IN campaign, whilst at the same time trying to paint Cameron as someone you can’t trust.

In the end the BBC will wind up with nobody believing them about anything leading people to support Cameron and vote for Brexit.

Hang on though, that’s exactly what I want. So…. BBC… GO FOR IT!!! Or in good Scots terms Blawh hard till yer burst….

The BBC should not take sides in this matter. Their job is to report the news, and that's all.
It's about time someone told them that. In my opinion, the same applies to newspapers, too.
They can, of course, spell out the pros and cons, but they should be banned from suggesting
how people should vote.

The BBC website and news reporting of Cameron and Tusk and the EU draft was as factual as that of many other news vendors. It pointed out that Cameron came back with very little in the way of concrete decisions and also that other EU member leaders were largely against any deals on some of the things Cameron was hoping for.

However, Laura Kuenssberg's interview with Cameron was abrasive to the point of being insulting. It was a first class hatchet job on the man himself and to his credit he stayed with it when many others would have got up and left.

As for the BBC ending up with nobody believing it, it is already there. Reading around, even its own blogs, it is clear that it has gone from being a world leader in news to being nothing more than another tabloid outlet in the minds of many people. It has a number of agendas it pushes relentlessly and everyone knows it.

The reporting was nuanced to give the impression that the "deal" was good but the person getting the deal and the way he was getting it was, somehow, wrong. After all he challenged the great GOD EU...

It may have been factual but the words wrapped around the facts tell more about how the facts are perceived to have worked, than the facts themselves.

An attitude which comes over in these slugfests called interviews by the BBC....

All this negative press, especially in the Tory press, which should support him, gives the impression that Cameron is some kind of bumbling buffoon toff (sorry that's Boris on the surface guys), when, in fact, he is a _Very_ able political operator indeed.

I now have an internal BS meter with the BBC. I don't believe a single good word they say about the EU without triple verification and I don't believe a single bad word they say about Cameron ever, because I know how difficult it will be to verify that. Usually it's only possible to call BS on the BBC's Cameron bashing 2 or 3 weeks after when the subtle lies and half truths are unveiled...
