An interesting point

I was just reading about Nicola Sturgeon talking in London about whether a Brexit "without Scottish consent" might drive a new Independence referendum for Scotland.

So my mind started working on that and came up with this...

If you are English, inclined to exit the EU and seriously p1ssed that you didn't get a chance to vote the Scots out of the UK for being such an arrogant bunch of toerags.....

Then perhaps a vote for Brexit will do the job....

Nicola Sturgeon might be getting a bit ahead of herself. It will be interesting to see how the Scots vote in the In/Out referendum. What will she do if a majority of them vote for Brexit? She wil not be able to sell Independence on the back of joining the EU, as she did last time.

And exactly how many of those were there? Very few. My bet is that had the rest of the UK got a chance to vote in the Scottish referendum the Scots would be very firmly in the UK, more so than with Scots only having a vote. So why would the UK government allow another referendum?

The same might not be true today, but that is down to Nicola's constant bitching.

And what if the Scots made the 'wrong' decision again? What would Nicola do, secede against the wishes of the majority of her compatriots? That would be a good move. NOT! Scotland would become the Zimbabwe of Europe.

Indeed there are a lot of if's there. However many of the Scots who voted NO to the independence did so on the basis that leaving the UK would mean they left the EU and had to re-negotiate. They didn't want to leave the EU and stand on their own. These people could be swayed or convinced that leaving the Union and joining the EU would be a positive thing.

I could very easily see a Yes vote in a second Scottish independence referendum if the UK left the EU. The EU might even sweeten the deal by promising immediate entry into the Euro as a lure to keep part of the UK in the EU in the hope that they could get the rest back later.

Some very interesting possibilities if the UK were to leave the EU, many not thought about by the run of the mill trough snouter....
