When we admit we "We are At War" and I truly believe it will be declared when we least expect it.

You could be right, Kate.

I think, like you no doubt, that it is inevitable.

We have been at war since we invaded Iraq on a pack of lies Aggers, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, and in the countries where the terrible attacks are taking place.. Complacency is not the word...I think people must be in a trance not to acknowledge the fact and the spread of the enemies intentions. And every one will react in disbelief when finally governments admit "That we are at war"

What's to worry about? If they don't blow us up we'll be overrun with all the people running away from flooding when the sea level rises. Bangladesh has over 80 million people living less than 1m above the sea level. Where are they going to go???

My Army experience was good. They had loads of sayings. Most of them ended with "and then you die". Very morbid guys in the Army, probably because they took the decision to put their life on the line for queen and country..... Well for a wage above living, accommodation and some training for later life anyway.

Yes I can agree with what you say. However it does not answer my question, I lived in Bangladesh for three years under Magabi at the time he was assassinated, a country exploited by the west and Britain by using the sweat shops paying workers next to nothing for the women's and indeed children's labour.

No, Kate, we are not at war in the way most of us would see the term.

No nation, including America, China or Russia, would take us on because we are so powerful and strong. We could do untold damage to them, as they could to us. Those, however, would be conventional and nuclear wars

Where we are weak is in our ability to take on guerilla forces such as Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab and IS. We do not seem to have the backbone to go in and destroy them. Today's wars are not East v West proxy wars of the Cold War, as were the cases in Korea and Vietnam, they are 'bandit' wars.

Russian, Chinese, American or Nato forces could wipe IS off the map in a day if they really wanted to. Why they do not when there are attacks in Nato countries, is a bit of a mystery.

I believe we are at war, which is never declared these days, a non atomic one of course in which we are being invaded by the forces of Islam. Started I think with the yanks dastardly attack on Iraq on the pretext of Kuwait after their fat woman ambassador in Baghdad told Saddam the if he took over Kuwait it would be regarded as an Arab matter.
May though have started even earlier when they kidded Saddam to invade Iran when the Shah whom they had set up was kicked out. To what extent the American meddling has caused the present situation is a matter of some conjecture.
The millions of victims of the flooding due to rising sea level will obviously have to move to higher ground but thankfully that is a problem for the dim and distant.
