Here we go again

The Greeks say it is unacceptable for the Macedonians to use CS Gas, rubber bullets (misnomer, they're plastic and can, if used maliciously, kill) and stun grenades to break up an attempt to cross the closed border in which the illegal migrants threw stones at the Macedonian Police.

Apparently these people al "vulnerable" and you can't treat them that way.

Meanwhile the Greek government can use CS gas and water cannon on their own people!!!

CS gas and plastic bullets and stun grenades are all considered riot and violent crowd control tools and are registered as such at the UN and certified for that use.

Attacking and attempting to force a crossing if a sovereign border is an act of war by the citizens of one country on another. Whether or not the government of that country condones it or not. There is legal precedent to use deadly force to stop it. In the end it may come down to that.

Compare and contrast the Reuter's article, especially the pictures, with the BBC's take.

Are we being fed the correct story?

Everyone in the press see's an opportunity to get their political position over, whatever it is.

It is virtually impossible to get the real story out of any of the press or governments, let alone the EU or the UN.

At times like this I prefer to go back to basics.

These people have illegally crossed borders and are camping, illegally, on a border with the full intention of forcing their way across it. They have refused to register and insist on moving until they get to where they "want" to go in order to force that country to take them,

These are people who are not fleeing a war. Not where they stand. They are chasing opportunity, backed by the leverage of a war. If they were truly desperate they would still be in Turkey.

Therefore I read the press with a jaundiced eye.
