From the moment Cameron promised the referendum I thought it would be a mess.
* He did not need to do it. It was done to garner votes to win an election. There were no legal or political reasons for it, but it was popular.
* He did not make it legally binding, but advisory. That mistake has led to all these bl00dy challenges.
* He said he would trigger A50 the day after the result. Instead he ran away. Had he kept to his promise all these challenges would not be worth a bean.
* We Remainers knew what we were getting. We were living it daily, and Cameron came back from Brussels with a sheet of Chamberlain paper saying pretty much that things would go on as they were, but with just a few tweaks here and there.
* Leave were never made to define, in detail, what 'Leave' meant. Brexit voters did not have a core set of policies, set in stone, to vote on. All they had were their own interpretations of what leaving would entail and a hope that some of their wishes would be delivered.
With things being so nebulous it is no surprise that there are calls for the Law to be clarified, and, surprise surprise, it is only lawyers who will benefit.
I am sick of all the delays, we are already four months behind schedule.
