Give it up FCOL

Sky and the BBC, obviously, are running a headline story from the self-appointed Think Tank, the IPPR.

Its report says that "Brexit" was the starting gun for a decade of upheaval in politics, the economy and society up to 2030. "Brexit" is apparently one of the most "disruptive forces" and will deliver a "profound shock" to the UK.

You see, we are all going to get older and the number of over 65s will rise putting a strain on services. Jobs will be lost, maybe 15 million, due to automation and AI. Job security will be a thing of the past. We will have a low- interest and low-wage economy. And the population will continue to grow and grow.

What planet are these people on? We already have some of those things even without Brexit. And the future things will happen regardless of Brexit.

This is just more "Project Fear" and it really is time to give it a rest.

I just ignore them nowadays as soon as they start. When they start talking about a "profound shock" I just visualise (as well as I'm able), the paddles on a defibrillator.

I'm one of those (I now learn), who can't visualise pictures of memories. Or at least only flickers if I concentrate really hard.

I became sick of the FUD long ago. Now I just turn off and tune into the economic and financial statements.

So do I, most of the time, but this sort of thing has a target audience who do not seem able to comprehend that the 'details' are bullcarp. They will blame Brexit for people getting older, and automation, and AI, because that is what they have been told is the case.

It does not matter whether it is official, unofficial, fake or true, or a 'study' by people with an agenda. It is out there, so it has to be believed.... and passed on to others.

This only confirms my long-held belief that the BBC is nothing more than a propaganda organisation for a section of the "establishment" desperate to peddle their own beliefs.

Unbiased, it is not. I just hope more and more people see it for what it is.

The IPPR has been part funded by the EU and until recently was headed up by Will Straw, who ran the Remain campaign during the referendum.

Something the BBC forgot to mention.
