Petition to block the state visit

From the office of the president of the United States, because it's currently inhabited by someone they don't like....

Is heading for 1M votes.

Yawn. If it hits 30M wake me up.. Parliament may not even discuss it, although they probably will as many MP's will want to grandstand on this.

We take state visits from dictators, absolute rulers and despots. None of which describe Trump or his situation.

Whilst I'm normally all for public engagement in the Government. There are a hell of a lot more important things to go after than this.

Petitions like this can and are signed by people outside the country they are launched in. Some people in the UK even offer their post codes to foreign signatories to enable them to sign.

Pity the government is not a bit more Scottish. The response from #10 is best expressed as Nae Chance!

Pick up an old phone book, choose a random name and there you have an address and postcode. Go to a free e-mail service and get throw-away e-mail address and you are good to go.

So much for these petitions being secure.
Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.

Donald Trump's well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales. Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit.

He's a vulgar misogynist, bless. We will brush under the carpet her meetings with murderers, torturers and those who really do treat women as second class or non-existent shall we? You know, the likes of Ceaucescu, Mugabe, Tito, a few Chinese, and any number of Arabs....

I think it is naïve to do any sort of referendum or opinion poll on the internet.

The Internet is wide open to abuse. It is a paradise for criminals and cheats.

The people we have elected to run this country should ban its use for this purpose.

Was coming on here to make that very point, Crommers, but you beat me to it! :D They whole thing is devalued.

Of course, don't expect the BBC to acknowledge that ....... the petition was the lead report on the 6:00 News tonight.
