The conwoman is at it again.

She breaks the spirit of the law and calls a general election and pretends it is about Brexit when it was nothing but an opportunistic tactic to boost the Tories.
She is now doing the 'immigration' thing and the media are lapping it up as definite thing that will happen.
So we are back to the "tens of thousands", "important to continue to aim for "sustainable" levels.", ""not about putting numbers on it" but about ensuring Britain had the skilled workers", "important that we do say and continue to say that we do want to bring migration to sustainable levels".
And then this: "Once we leave the EU, we will of course have the opportunity to ensure we have control of our borders. We will be able to establish our rules for people coming from the EU. That is a part of the picture we have not been able to control before."
So, it is important to aim for and to say that we need sustainable numbers just so long as we plebs do not get to know the numbers, which ones are sustainable, and when they will be achieved.
It is all b*llocks, especially the last bit. The UK can close the borders to those from outside the EU, now, today. I will put a number on it: 0. We could also reduce the numbers from the EU as we have always had the right to do by simply enforcing EU rules in the same way the French, Italians, Spanish, Dutch and others have done. We can also use some of our own rules regarding benefits for housing, jobseeking, child credits, and so on. OK we cannot stop all EU citizens from coming, but we can put off a lot of them from making the attempt if we make it known that the streets are not paved of gold.
We are all in for a slow death by soundbite.
