This story is only one of the reasons why I don't like Ofsted. A traditional jewish school has failed it's OFSTED inspection.

Why? Because it does not teach girls from the ages of 3 to 8 about homosexuality and "gender reassignment".

But here is the truly hypocritical bit. OFSTED inspectors found that the school does not give pupils "a full understanding of fundamental British values". Because pupils "are not taught explicitly about issues such as sexual orientation".

"This restricts pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and does not promote equality of opportunity in ways that take account of differing lifestyles."

This is how words become perverted and twisted in the public sector. This obviously started out as a push to teach "traditional British values" whatever they are, but has ended up under cover of that by pushing minority sexual orientation at very young children. It's just awful, to me it's a form of child abuse.

Btw, I wasn't aware that homosexuality or gender reassignment were "traditional" British values. OFSTED is a truly crap organisation and needs to be shut down asap.

This sort of thing threatens all faith schools - not only Jewish and Moslem schools but also evangelical Christian schools.

The LGBT lobby is too powerful by far in this country.

It is almost a form of anti-Semitism.

I look forward to the headlines of OTFSTED marching in mob-handed to certain other faith schools and ordering them what to or not to teach.

I could be waiting quite some time.

I quite agree. If I were a young parent and had children at school, I would object most strongly
if children of mine were taught that sort of nonsense. What has gone wrong with modern society
that such stupid things have become acceptable?
I think that people who advocate those subjects should be kicked out, or maybe put in an asylum.

I think the problem is Aggers that people don't realise what is going on. This particular case shows that pupils were supposed to be being taught "traditional British values", but that Ofsted were using that as a cover for sex education, and a niche area of sex education at that.

I had a massive bust up with my BIL back in the 90's over the repeal of Section 28 in Scotland. He maintained I was a homophobe (amusing as that may seem today). I maintained that he was clueless about what the consequences were to be. He told me Headmasters would control what was to be taught and that they would sensibly refuse to buy education media which "sexualised" children. I maintained that it would be illegal to buy, or sell, other media and it would be impossible to do anything else but sexualise children; because it would be the only way to "equally" teach the LGBT subject to children in the 5-14 age group.

I submit, from this Ofsted report, that I was correct and my BIL was barking...

All schools should be secular. Parents are perfectly at liberty to take their children to church/mosque/temple out of school hours.

I think it should be an offence to teach children about these un-natural sexualities.
What is the world coming to?

It's time decent-minded people made a stand against those corrupt and filthy people
in authority who seek to teach our children about things they shouldn't need to know.

They can't. Section 28 of the equal opportunities act was specifically created to remove the teaching of this material from the act for the 5-14 age group. When that idiot Blair repealed section 28, he made it _Mandatory_ to teach this stuff to the 5 - 14 age group. It is, quite simply, illegal not to.

If we want to stop teaching this stuff to small children, we now have to repeal the equal opportunities act. I'd go for that then they could go back and do it properly.

Ooof, a huge can of worms there, Kaz! I could bust your bandwidth writing a response , but I'll just say:

a) If you get rid of CofE and RC schools, you're actively eroding the historical Christian ethos of the country (which I accept many may consider a good thing ....)

b) But how do you ensure secular schools teach a basic moral code? Do you trust the Government to be the regulator?

c) The decision to expand faith schools to give other religions the same educational rights can only lead to more polarisation and division in the community, I accept.

d) But driving religious education to the church / mosque / temple level means that there is no regulation against indoctrination.

e) Secularism in schools in France has led to a lot of alienation because its core tenet is "we are all the same" and no freedom of religious expression (i.e. religious symbols) is allowed.
Which has helped alienate their Moslem community, and caused division and tension.

f) Enforced secularism only creates oppressed religious minorities.

I'd be interested to know if Suff has any first-hand views on French education and secularism ......
