The retiring head of the Met's counter-terrorism unit tells us that the UK has foiled four extreme far-right terror plots in the last year and that they were by Islamist-inspired groups.
This is political correctness gone mad. These were not far-right terror plots they were Muslim Islamist extremist terror plots. To conflate the two deflects responsibility from where it really lies.
The far-right is a political ideology that anyone from anywhere can join or leave at any time. Islam is a religion one is born into and can only safely be left on death. Its core teachings are counter to the values of the free West and its followers are indoctrinated into following them. The only similarity between the far-right and Islam is that neither of them has a single all-powerful head - they are hydras.
Yes, the UK does have its far-right extremists, but they appear to be taking their 'fight', as they see it, to Islam and Islamist groups. It is right that the police go after them with full force, but it is wrong to make out that they are at the same level of danger to the general population as Islamists are.
