How wrong is this?

Heidi Alexander is stepping down as Labour MP for Lewisham to become Sadiq Khan's new deputy mayor for transport. She has the freedom to make that choice. so there is nothing wrong with it.
However, her replacement candidate, Janet Daby, has been chosen from a shortlist made up of all black or minority ethnic women.
On basic principles this should not be allowed and might even be seen as illegal by some. It is absolutely certain that if a party put up a shortlist of indigenous males there would be an uproar across the land.
It is rather strange, and even a bit sinister, that this has flown under the radar of our mainstream media.

What it needs is an Independent Labour candidate - white, male, and a non-ticker of all the other politically correct boxes - to stand against the official Labour challenger in that seat. Then let us see how the vote is split.

The electorate in that part of the world is mostly BAME so I suppose it makes sense to have a BAME candidate.
Anyway, every mainstream party supports 'positive discrimination' so this kind of fix is here to stay.

All of the above went through my mind when I saw the candidate. However I didn't expend any time on researching it, I didn't spend any time on worrying about what this means or how it will impact the future.
Simply put, this has been going on for decades and the fact that it is being put so blatantly now is nothing but he eventual consequence of policies which have been supported by ALL parties for decades now.
This attitude that the vast majority of indigenous British are horrible racists and misogynists and must be overwhelmed with "affirmative action", is so deeply ingrained into the body politic that to get it out would require more than just skinning said body; but carving half its flesh away as well.
I find it most amusing that the first Real recording of "How wrong is this?" has been held up in history as the most racists speech of all. If you don't believe me just go and read the full text of Enoch Powell's speech. Of course so few do; they just perpetuate the "racist" badge without ever having read what he said.
So, today, we have the Met police undermanned because not enough Asians want to fill their specific "ethnic" slot allocated to them and "others" are not allowed to take their place. We have "honest" debates about why we do not have 50% of Ministerial positions in government held by Women when only 32% of all MP's are women and only 21% of Conservative MP's are women. Leading to the fact that, of the current cabinet, 26% are Women. Yet still the calls that this is "unbalanced" because it is not 50%, or more, for women.
I won't even begin to get started on the other situations out there which require "affirmative action"!
