Sajid Javid revealed work is underway to identify the "characteristics" of child sex abusers and their victims in a bid to tackle a "national threat".

Give it a rest, Sajid. We do not need an expensive inquiry and report to get to the nitty gritty. Just send a wonk, or even better and intern doing free work, down to the court archives to look at the records for sexual offences.

The names and addresses of the victims and perpetrators are already there. Job done for only a few bob.

This new 'initiative' sounds very much like can-road-kick.

Far too simple! I sense a boom time approaching for psychologists, criminologists, heads of children's charities, multi agency task forces...

Ah yes, there will be loads of money to be made by those in the right occupations. Let the legerdemain begin......

No point in spending all that money when the conclusion can't be delivered because it would be "racist".
