Earth Overshoot Day
Posted: 01 Aug 2018, 16:09Today, Aug 1st, is the day we went into debt with the earth's natural resources. From today we will be dipping in to future reserves - going into overdraft.
We are currently consuming 1.7 Earths every year and it keeps on getting worse.
Nobody really knows how long we can keep on using up 1.7 Earths, or worse, because the calculations are complicated and the goalposts keep moving. What we do know it that there is not an Earth 2.0 to turn to.
