Terror visits the USA.

Loads of reports of explosive devices being sent to prominent figures in the States.

They are reported to be crude but functional and able to maim or kill. They have certainly woken up the US media and establishment to what things are like in unstable countries.....

What I have found interesting from the pictures I have seen is that they all look similar and appear to be readily identifiable. There does not seem to have been any real attempts to 'hide' them or disguise them as something else.

Is this deliberate, a shot across the bows, or was it hoped that they would get through?

Or was it a false flag operation?

None of them have gone off so no one has been hurt, thank goodness.

I think a part of this is to do with how heated politics have become. We've seen it in this country. T-shirts comparing Tories to rats. The labelling of some people and parties a "far-right" as though they are nazis when they aren't. The viciousness of the Brexit debate and especially it's aftermath.

Reasoned debate seems to have been abandoned. People seem to believe that if they believe is set A of values, then that makes them automatically a nicer, better and more intelligent person than people who believe in set B of values. It doesn't. People seem not to be able to defend their position, or in some cases even to know much about what they believe in. Any challenge to their beliefs seems to result in a slight period of disbelief before a swift descent into rage.

And all this imo has been encouraged by the people in Westminster. They have set up holy cows which cannot and must not be questioned.

So if people cannot engage in debate and are forbidden from talking about contentious issues then they will probably store up a lot of anger and resentment. And sometimes that will come out as violence; increasingly, it probably will.

Twelve now, and who know how many more?

The FBI has named a 56 yr-old, Cesar Sayoc, as the perpetrator. He has loads of convictions, but they do not know if he was acting alone.

It is al very strange. He is a registered Republican, but his actions have drawn support for the Democrats.

Cromwell seems to have it. These people are so convinced of their beliefs that they cannot ever see a downside - my way or the highway. Don't debate, threaten and browbeat.

Sadly the UK is following the same path.

Yes, and ""sadly" is the right word. I don't know what is causing it, but I do get the impression that too many of our politicians
have gone into parliament for the wrong reasons, which may be the reason why they consider they must not be questioned, as,
of necessity, they cannot bring themselves to give an honest answer, which would, no doubt, prove detrimental to their image.
