At least the social justice warriors (SJWs) were open about what they deemed was 'correct' methodology, language or thought. They could be challenged, ignored, or both.

Virtue signalling is on another level. It is subliminal and those behind it hide in the shadows. It is all around us, but I bet most of us do not recognise it.
