The PM today re her deal: "Reject it and no-one knows what will happen. We may not leave the EU for many months. We may leave without the protections a deal provides, we may never leave at all."

So, all bases are covered.

"We may never leave at all" is an interesting take. The majority of MPs would like that outcome, and so would a majority of the electorate. If we had another referendum with all known facts before us: Remain / Leave a) Deal or b) No deal, Remain would win hands down.

With three parts to the question Frank, the leavers will be divided in two, remainers will be united. Let us hope such a loaded question will never be put on the ballot paper

It's possible that once upon a time there could have been a worse PM than Theresa May.
At a time when we needed boldness and confidence, we got her.
I have every confidence that she will kick the can down the road again very soon.

Not so Meds. It is still a binary Remain or Leave question, but with the Leave vote getting a choice of which road to go down. It actually gives Leavers a choice over what type of "leave" is the most acceptable.

So what are you saying Frank - that leavers, deal or no deal, would be added together to make one total, as opposed to remain. I am so suspicious of our elected MPs and would suspect it was a rouse to split the leave vote in two. What if the three questions posed all returned very similar outcomes. As Margaret Beckett opined on Question Time - leaving is only the beginning. Perish the thought!

Yes. Let me explain.

The one question is Remain or Leave a 50:50 choice same as last time.

If the result is, say, 55% Remain and 45% Leave we remain.

If the result is 55% Leave and 45% Remain we would leave. The Leave votes, and only the Leave votes, would then be looked at again to see which of a) or b) got the most votes and that would then be what was negotiated.

Where are we? God knows. At least I hope He does, no one else seems to.

Next up is a vote in Parliament on May's dreadful "deal" which the experts tell us will be defeated.
Then a vote in Parliament which will tell the UK that we are not going to leave the EU without a deal. Not that this is a mechanism dreamt up by Bercow, Grieve, Cooper et al to stop stop Brexit.

Soo after the vote to prohibit no deal wins as the experts tell us that it will, then what?

May's deal - which is as much the EU's deal as it is hers - has been defeated again.
But we can't leave without a deal!

I know, let's all stop being silly, have another vote and stay in! What could be nicer, eh?

What puzzles me is this "meaningful" vote thing? Does this mean all other votes in Parliament are meaningless? Does that extend to public voting? Great way to encourage people to vote - not.....

I have always been against another referendum and have said so, many times.

I only mentioned it in my OP because it is gaining traction, but if one is to be held it has to be clear and fair, especially to the Leave vote.

However, two more things can be added to the deal / no-deal / A50 extension and new referendum list. They look to have been suppressed somewhat, but they are now being openly talked about. One is for a quick general election and the other is to revoke A50.

I am not sure that any of these 'solutions' actually get us out of the bind we are in, and I am not sure that anyone really knows what to do.

Meaningful vote? Hmm, it is probably sold as a counterpoint to the 'rubber stamp' votes normally seen in parliament, however, it is only meaningful if it is unwhipped - a free vote... and we all know that would not be allowed.
