Vic, do you have any links?
I can't find any and German schools do not reopen till Monday.

There are several articles like
this WM. It is the story of the R0 rate rising from 0.7 to 0.9 and now to 1.0.
Personally I think it is about statistics and not real large numbers of new cases. The smaller the sample rate, the easier it is for the R0 to rise.
The
worldometer charts for Germany do not show a sudden worsening of the situation.

Suff, I knew about the German figures as I posted them the other day. I was querying the specific claim about the rise being due to the opening of schools.

I guess you need to read German for that. However do we have enough German to detect the difference between the sun, DM and Mirror and the Times, Guardian and Observer in terms of German Press??
Cross reference what I wrote about Italy and children being incubators and there is a point to be addressed. Most children are infectious asymptomatic throughout the virus.

There is quite a discussion going on about the children thing as a search of "Can children pass on coronavirus" will show. There is no consensus at present - Switzerland, China the WHO and others think they are fine to visit grand parents. To err on the side of caution seems to be the correct way to go, however.
I am about to become a grand parent for the first time so it is something I am following closely.

Lots of joy with that WM. There aren't that many real pleasures as you progress into retirement but that is one of them.
It is interesting the debate, I had thought it was clearly settled in Feb so don't bother looking for it.
Looking ligocally, the single greatest threat to people, for catching Covid, are asymptomatic but infectious people. The largest community of asymptomatic people are under 16. The largest group of high risk people are Grandparents.
1+1+1 still == 3 as far as I know.
