.... the government has ditched its own in-house Covid tracing app for the Google-Apple version. Well there's a surprise? How much did that cost us, both financially and in implementation delays? Will we ever know?
The only thing this country appears to be world-beating at is incompetence.
Mind you, there is some good news. We have gone from only being able to trace two out of three to now tracing three out of four. With figures like those its usefulness is severely limited, it needed to be nearer nine out of ten and that will never happen. The virus will be well on the wane long before then.

They will not be able to trace my wife as she does not have a mobile phone, and I will not down load the app onto mine.
There must be a lot of people who will not be included like us.

Cruiser, you and Mrs C will not be alone.
I will not be downloading the app and I have rooted my phone to delete loads of apps. I have Bluetooth and WiFi switched off unless needed and have disabled location services..... It's a phone FCOL.
We are safe, for now.
But with an 80 seat majority who knows what 'special powers' they might bring in?

Most of the time Meds, but sometimes they have to be on such as when using maps and also my Internet banking to login. I also use Starpage instead of Google and have tracking cookies turned off in Opera (browser) but beware, doing all this can make surfing the net a bit of a pain with all the Allow / Deny and accept cookies pop-ups.

Good luck with the test MM.
Two stories on this today. The first on the front page of the Telegraph with Lord Bethel the Health Minister admitting that the tracing app "will not be ready until winter". He didn't say whether this is winter 2020, 2021 or a nuclear winter. So much for "three weeks to rollout" that was touted by the chief executive of NHSX, the digital arm of the health service. This gentleman's name is Matthew Gould, who gave his remarkable prediction on April 28th.
I haven't heard much of Mr Gould since then. He appears to have adopted a low profile!
The second story is that NHSX's app is being ditched entirely. So that went about as well as expected!

Scientists say that doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result, is a sure early sign of madness.
The NHS sucks at software. So get them to create a contract tracing app. Result? The NHS sucks at software!

Thank you I will be interested to see how not just me but my entire work colleagues test because we have all been together throughout and we cant socially distance most of the time. I will also be interested as I am convinced Tim's test wasn't done right so if he was positive, although he tested negative, surely I should have contracted it?
