If it is we .might as well all stay home
And just watch the country grind to a halt
While the 20/30/40 have a good time
Things are now out of control completely
Can't even go into town or the beach it's Jam packed, with visitors who leave the beach and town full of rubbish
Rant over

They should make it that the under-50's have to stay at home, Saundra.
Then you and me can go down the pub together!!

It's definitely the younger ones doing the spreading
They can try and tell me to stay in, but I wouldn't like their chances
I am healthy, fairly fit, and behave in a responsible manner, so quite frankly they can s@d off!

Imo, it is unenforceable.
The outbreaks round here recently have been in a centre for refugees and in the local asian community. If you start telling 50 year olds to stay in when they have followed the rules whilst others have been allowed to flout them, it will only lead to trouble. I wouldn't be happy being told I had to stay indoors. I'll get the first round in for Saundra and Ossie!

I see that the usual suspects (Mail, Exp, Sky) have lit the blue touch paper and managed to get knickers in twists in implying that all over 50s and 70s will be in full lockdown or that "millions" from those age groups will suffer that fate and be locked away for the foreseeable.... It is absolute nonsense.
The original shielding identified 2.2 million people out of a population of 68 million who were more vulnerable than the majority due to health reasons. They had a variety of illnesses and were from all age groups, but mostly over 70. The proposal found by the Sunday Times is that the medical records of the over 50s will be looked at again in order to give those thought to be at a higher risk a more personalised set of rules to follow.
They are not going to suddenly find "millions" of new cases in the 50 - 70 age group who are going to die if they set out of their door. The overwhelming majority will still be able to go about their business in the easing, tightening, easing and tightening system of lockdowns, mostly local, that looks about to be set in place.
