Talking about a vaccine

Postby Suff » 03 Aug 2020, 18:28

I had a look into the Oxford one, the results so far, how long it took and then extended that out into the future to see where we might be.

So the Oxford Vaccine went into phase 1/2 testing in March. It takes 28 days for a single vaccine before they get results and 56 days for the double.

It took 2 months for them to get results, one month to correlate them and a week or two to present them.

Phase 2/3 started in June and Brazil and ZA started on the 28th. So worst case is mid Oct before they present the results to the government for a decision with a likely decision within October. Best case would be results in Sept with a decision in Sept or early Oct.

Something to watch. It certainly will not be 2021 on this timeline, especially as the first results showed 100% success in the dual dose patients and no harsh side effects.
