How have we become so useless?

The NHS is to ditch 50m face masks because they are not up to clinical spec. Hopefully thy will go to care homes or the public where such stringent rules are not required. I certainly hope they don't just get binned.

We are also recalling 750,000 Covid test kits over safety fears. Apparently the swabs are not up to standard. Just how unsafe can a cotton bud on the end of a stick be?

These come on top of the gowns from Turkey fiasco where 400,000 were found to be sub-standard?

Who writes the specifications for these things and why are tests not being carried out on samples of the products by experienced staff prior to these huge purchases being made? Heads should roll.

Panic buying on a gigantic scale.

Maybe so, Meds, but even when panic buying checks should be made that what you are panic buying is up to the job otherwise you end up panic scrapping, which is what is happening. It is borderline criminal negligence.

Then all the stuff need replacing, hopefully with the correct gear, or it's the same again, using our money. :x :x :x

I quite agree WM. The Government has been on the back foot from Day 1. I am not even sure if the furlough scheme is quite the good idea that it appeared to be, as we are seeing job losses on a daily basis and those with jobs are reluctant to get back to work. Social distancing went out of the window for many people when Dominic Cummings took a trip to Barnard Castle, coincidentally on his wife's birthday.
