Truth and lies

The other day in the Daily Telegraph there were three outstandingly good articles - all by female writers and all on the same page.
Julie Burchill pointed out that lying is now officially sanctioned. As in the facts of human biology. We get phrases like "people who menstruate" rather than pointing out that only women menstruate. And that Doctors are now being encouraged not to call fat people fat. Or the big lie that if somebody hears an opinion that they don't like, then their upset justifies that particular truth being suppressed. You could also add the grooming scandal where the well known truth of who the culprits were was suppressed and whistleblowers intimidated.
She says (which I agree with) that the truth moves you forward. Lying and denying causes the situation to stagnate.
Janet Daley commented on the XR tactic of blockading newspaper plants so that the papers couldn't be sold.
She pointed out a three step way of thinking.
1. Your opponent is wrong.
2. Not only are they wrong but they are wilfully wicked.
3. Therefore they must be eliminated.
We've seen this in Mao's cultural revolution in in the Pol Pot crimes. This country is for sure at step 2. We've said it many times on here but there is not much toleration any more; no more you are entitled to your opinion. It is just "If you disagree with me then you are a (fill in the blanks)".
Madeline Grant spoke of the use of language and how it is being seriously misused.HR departments now talk of streamlining and off-boarding when they mean sacking people. "Problems" become "challenges", "cuts" become "cost savings".
Nicey nicey language is being used to conceal or minimise bad news.
Riots that leave police officers in hospital become "mainly peaceful" according to the MSM.
It is an Orwellian world of newspeak, and we are living it right now.
I know the Telegraph isn't some people's cup of tea, but these female columnists regularly provide top stuff.
