Covid testing

Postby Suff » 05 Feb 2021, 11:35

The worldometers site gives an interesting metric, detailing how many tests per 1m population.

Note that testing is never really mentioned any more except when it can be spun as a negative on the government.

The UK is #1 for tests per 1m population for a population over 10m. It is #16 overall. The more interesting thing, though, was the next part. Of the top 25 countries in that list, 11 are either UK territories, former UK territories or members of the Commonwealth.

You will look long and hard to find that one in the press. I mean it means UK administration structures do actually work. Something the press is highly unlikely to tell us.

Yes, we have done well on vaccinations. (Still waiting for mine though!) :)

Got ours last Saturday at The Exchange, Stur, Crommers; we're in a Tier one up from you I presume. Queueing when we arrived at 10:00 but all done very efficiently. They were expecting to vaccinate 1,100 there on the day, I overheard.

I'm Group 5 Os, you must be in 4? (Maths genius here!)
I'm happy you have yours. Fingers crossed they will crack on round here. 1,100 in one day is pretty impressive.

I am in at 10:06 precisely tomorrow morning (Gp5+).

The surgery has only just started doing vaccinations as things move out from the larger local hub. I was told that it would be the O/AZ one, which is fine by me. I will not be changing my behaviour to the pandemic any time soon.

Mrs S got her invite but she can't attend. We will quietly sit here until all the restrictions start to ease and then see what is available.
