Only now will we see if vaccinations and herd immunity work

Postby Suff » 31 May 2021, 14:00

Due the actions of a few thousand extremely selfish people, the UK is now looking like riding a third wave of the virus. Something everyone took on the chin back in December to make sure we didn't screw up the roll out of the vaccinations and have a 3rd wave raging in the middle of it.

Now with half the adults fully vaccinated and vaccination going apace, we should see whether this is going to work or not. This is the litmus test. If the latest outbreak fizzles then we are on stronger ground to get on with our lives.

The next 3 weeks will be vital to see the trend. This time unlocking on the 21st really will be data driven. Not data that shows that everything has stopped and it is safe, but data which shows that vaccinations will curb any future outbreak.

48% of us have had both doses. 74% of us have had one. 26% have had none. In which group is the 'exponential' growth occurring? We don't know because the answer does not fit the narrative.

Are daily cases rising? Yes. Are we doing more daily tests this week than last? Yes. Who and where are we doing these extra tests? The answer does not fit the narrative.

Is the growth equal across the nation? No. Is it in hot-spots? Best not go there as it does not fit.....

Yet the media rolls out fewer than a handful of experts and runs with the headline that 'the UK is in the early stages of a third wave'.

We are being played yet again.

Strange, the buffoon agrees with you.

Also Walpole is equivocating

However, the government’s former chief scientific adviser, Prof Sir Mark Walport, said it was “not impossible” that the country was in the foothills of a new wave, as the Delta coronavirus variant, first identified in India, takes over, accounting for three-quarters of cases.

“I hope not, but it’s not impossible,”

Plus

Walport said the decision was “finely balanced” because hospital admissions were so far not surging.

Of course they're not effing surging, half the people are fully vaccinated and the rest are being targeted in areas where it pops up.

Those extra tests I mentioned are from surge testing and that is being done in Covid hot spot towns and areas where, for cultural reasons, take up of the vaccine is euphemistically described as "slow". They are not indicative on what is going on in the country as a whole yet that is what some of the experts are treating them as.
