Baby Lilibet

Harry and Meghan have named their baby Lilibet Diana to be known as Lili

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally I think Lilibet is a private pet name for the queen and this is a crass and arrogant thing to do.

Awful name, trying to get into favour.

As a nickname, it's fine, but bot as a first name, Hopefully, they'll call her Diana.

That was my reaction when I heard. As Jan says, If they're trying to curry favour, they're not even in the running.

I know it's a typo Jan but 'bot' as a first name made me laugh. Bum is very fitting for their overall behaviour.

Unbelievable choice of name. I have read previously that the Queen does not wish to be called Lillibet in future as it was a pet name used by her father and the Duke of Edinburgh. If they wanted to name their baby after the Queen, surely Elizabeth should have been the name of choice. Meghan is a plotter and Harry has lost the plot.

I agree MM. Lilibet was a very private and intimate pet name.
In those circumstances you would surely do the polite thing and ask the Queen if it was acceptable to use the name but say would quite understand if it wasn't.
Given the slagging off that the Royal Family have had from Harry, to then choose the Queen's childhood pet name has to raise doubts about why it was chosen.

I do not get the media and some of the public's infatuation with these chavs.

Lilbet sounds very "trailer trash" and ever so apt - along with Alfie.

Wayne and Waynetta would be proud.

Fortunately I have an auto ignore on all Harry/Meghan, news. It is simply not worth it and if absolutely everyone said "so what, I don't care, on you go, get lost", the press would stop leading with it and make them vanish. Which would be best for all concerned.
