Yep, that's going to stop the obesity epidemic in its tracks, isn't it?

I can see lots of legal challenges to this sort of gesture politics. Who gets to decide what is or is not junk food? If vegans are on the committee it will be skinless chicken breasts and sirloin steaks, If it was me it would be avocados and tofu.

These people are looking at the problem through the wrong lens but it makes them feel good to be seen to be doing something. That the "something" is no more than virtue signalling is way beyond their comprehension.

Won't do any good
People buy what they want
When they want it

And the supermarkets will still be selling junk food.

It didn't take long for us sensible ones to work it out. :D :D :D

We do not see many regular ads dedicated to custard / jam filled doughnuts, potato waffles, digestives, smoked streaky bacon, strawberry jam or their likes. They do not need them as we already know that we like them, and they fly off the shelves and into our tummies on a daily basis.

Adverts are not the problem, availability is.

Frankly, anything that takes that bleddy yodelling Dominoes advert off-air will be extremely welcome .....

Most kids don't watch broadcast programs so do not see the adverts. Now if they want to age test a bunch of online media streaming outlets and their adverts and the watershed, go for it.

However nobody put a gun to their head and said "EAT till your clothes shrink".
