The Marble Arch mound

Has anyone ever seen such an arrant waste of public money. Edward used to work in the Cumberland Hotel right at Marble Arch and I loved the Arch, such a beautiful building. Now it is dwarfed by something that looks like where the Telly Tubbies live  :x

In answer to the original question, yes, the Mayor of London's edifice on the banks of the Thames. It was all about power and aggrandisement for livingscum.

This thing is just a pile of rubbish and will, hopefully, be removed in time.

Load of rubbish? You can add that 4th Plinth exhibit consisting of an ice cream cone and a cherry with two flies crawling on it. I mean, honestly!

Don’t insult pit mounds
We’ve got one just across the village from us, we can see it from our house and looks like a huge woodland hill, and it’s been made into a really lovely walk. All properly pathed with picnic benches half way up…not a bit of scaffolding in sight and it’s free!

Apparently it’s only going to be there until January. What a waste of money.

The attraction will allow people to enjoy and understand Marble Arch in a way that has not previously been possible and also to appreciate the park in its correct setting.

Translation: We will allow you to view Marble Arch in a different way by obliterating one of the best views with a pile of rubble and some shrubs.

Pretentious tosh!

Can you not “appreciate the park in it’s correct setting” by simply walking through it?

Pit stacks are usually black and much more artistic.

We have plenty of old pits round here that have been turned into fantastic wildlife sanctuaries - well worth a visit. The one at Marble Arch will never see much wildlife just tourists trashing the place - and it will be come at great financial and environmental cost.

Sustainable my fundament......
