Avatarworld.

There are more of us than ever before but we mix less and less. We are crammed in to smaller spaces but we rarely react with others - try a bus, train or the tube.

We might as well be conceived and placed on a chip to roam the metaverse then switched off when we have had enough. Some of us, the phone drones, are almost there.

Bring back the 1960s and 70s.

And if you tie this Metaverse concept in with the huge strides made recently in the development of AI, the question of whether we are man or machine appears even more blurry ....

For the moment, yes. But we seem to be on a path to making ourselves redundant for day to day things.

Of course it was always the promise of Sci fi that we would eventually liberate ourselves from the day to day grind through our technology.

Now we are close to achieving it the obvious question of relevancy comes up.

It seems to me that what we humans do best is to explore new situations and develop new avenues of living.

Perhaps being interplanetary will be our salvation after all.
