I see the Police are now investigating another personality - a comedian in his 70s this time. How long before the person is outed in the papers, probably all over the internet by now.

Papers say that the police are investigating a "television comedy legend" in his 70's.

So far the "press have refrained from identifying him". How civil minded of them!

Children in care were and are and always have been easy prey, as are mental handicapped youngsters in care.. there has been a case going on in Scotland for years regarding the abuse of a Downs syndrome girl and others, people in high places involved in a paedophile ring the cover up has been shameful. This authorities and successive government's have fooled the majority of the population into believing that this is a country with a strong moral code, that is the biggest load of b/s ever.. This country is and always has been utterly corrupt morally and politically, it is endemic. and the fact has been well hidden as we see by the daily revelations now, naming the children's home in Wales and elsewhere. naming the children's home in Wales and else where..

I have no problem with the police investigating crimes of the past, so long as they were crimes in the days in question.

What I do not like is people being named, and shamed, simply because they are being investigated. If they have not been charged then their anonymity should remain in place, as it the case for their accusers.

It has now been announced that Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) has been arrested on suspicion of rape over 45 years ago.

I know that the Entertainment industry has to clear out its skeletons from the cupboard, but what purpose is served by releasing names before charges are brought?
