To the charges. He has admitted he is guilty of the charges. And also it seems that with Rolf Harris there was a witness to this and the police have been out to Australia to interview her.

Very. Where do we imprison septuagenarians and octogenarians for such crimes? They will not last five minutes in ordinary prisons.

It looks as though the CPS went 'belt and braces' with Hall. If they did not get him for the nine yr-old they would have gone for him with the rape. Some of the other offences were only borderline, given the laws of the day, so I suspect that they will not have much impact on sentence.

Personally I don't think it matters how old he is.

If he is found guilty of committing a crime then he should serve whatever sentence would normally be passed for that crime. Whether he be 21 or 81.

We have always known that the BBC has been run by ignorant self serving corrupt individuals who have turned a blind eye as to what is and has been going on and has gone on, and is full of weirdo's not too different in Westminster... An acquaintance was a hospitality guide for dignitaries visiting the UK.. She was to take him to a certain individuals offices.. When he left she was offered a drink that she refused. He then left the room saying he would organise a taxi for her on his return.. When he did return she was shocked to see him in a state of undress with a dressing gown as his only cover.. She was furious and asked him what the hell he thought he was playing at, he apologised as she fled through the door. Not the first time he was in the news.. But he still remains a Labour MP twenty years later.

Like Jimmy Savile, Stuart Hall was (at the least) a well known dirty old man. I was a student at Manchester in the 70's and Hall was seeing a female undergraduate; he must have been in his forties even then. He used to try and disguise himself with dark glasses and a trilby hat. How he thought that would blend into the background of a student hall of residence, I have no idea.
A dirty old man with a VERY high opinion of himself; and as for the BBC saying "Gosh, we never knew" - absolute RUBBISH! That is just totally unbelievable.

I agree with debih, it really doesn't matter how old he is. He's actually admitted offences against young children and as far as I'm concerned he should be sentenced appropriately.

I was not saying that he should not be sentenced according to his crimes, but I am wondering where and how he will be incarcerated.

The State has a duty of care to its prisoners, even murderers and rapists, and it is difficult to see how that can be assured to a very old man in an ordinary prison. That's all I am saying.

I'd assume he'd get a Category C establishment, like Huhne and Pryce.

I wonder how many of the ladies involved have their memories of the "events" enhanced if not embellished but the thought of getting their hands on a bit of his loot?
