You recall I was pretty disparaging of the screaming hype about how Covid would come back again and again and again and there would be no immunity and IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE VACCINE YOU WOULD RUN THE RISK OF DYING EVERY DAY.

Well I've been sitting on this little bit of retraction posted on Sky news a while ago.

Yes, well I've had Covid and 3 Vaccines. Most notably I've had Covid first and 3 vaccines after. Which, ALL the medical body of knowledge says, makes you virtually invulnerable and if you do catch it you will get no more than a sniffle.

Quite. But why the need for huge peer reviewed research. If you went to Google on the browser and set the dates to any time before Dec 2019, you could find all this research and knowledge yourself. As soon as you filtered out the hysteria and deliberate stoking of hysteria from the Government, Whitty and sundry others, it was pretty clear that there is no virus on the planet which has ever done, or ever can do, what they were scaring people with.

Yes, there are "people" who suffer from immune systems which don't work. There are no viruses which defeat the human immune system in the same way every time. The human immune system is a very powerful system. If it was not we would not exist.

I've sat on this for quite a while just to let it settle. But the reality is we were lied to copiously and without cease, relentlessly. By people who knew that they were lying to us. People have died from lack of diagnosis. Tens of thousands of people will die of cancer from a lack of treatment and a lack of diagnosis. Explicitly because of this lying and hysteria.

Every time I see someone wearing a mask today I want to say "don't you know you were lied to". But, honestly, if it makes them feel safe or it makes them feel like they are keeping me safe and they need that safety net, then I let it go....

I went to see my granddaughter last weekend. She's in Nursery. She gave me a cold. That is how the human immune system works. She's fine, I'll be fine in a day or two.

Some day, somehow, somewhere, there will come a time when somebody who was part of all this lying stuff will want something from me. No matter how small. The answer will be NO.

You have a view, fine, it's yours. We don't all share it. Spanish influenza did a good job, so did yersinia pestis - the Black death, plague.

Good job your granddaughter didn't pass on Marburg or Ebola. If either of those went pandemic today we would all be in deep 5h1t, good immune system or not. Boy would we lockdown, quarantine, wear masks, stay apart, wash, wash and wash. Well us sensible ones would, you others would kop it. It's only a mild flu, innit?

I don't quite get what you're trying to say, Suff If you're saying that Covid was never a threat, even at the beginning then I think you're very wrong - lots of otherwise healthy people died or contracted Long Covid. If course we're now becoming more immune to it, and it's in the background along with flu and other viruses. After all, the Aztecs died in their droves from common diseases bought over by the Spanish conquistadors - because they'd never been exposed to them before.........

No I'm saying that the HUGE threat of a virus which would kill us all unless we got a vaccine because we would never get any immunity was nothing more than trolling.

Article after article, prediction after prediction. You could not go out without a vaccine, your immunity might not last. All that rubbish. All a vaccine does is simulate the immunity you would normally get with an infection. It went on and on and on. Now we have "evidence" that it was all fear mongering. That by far the majority of us could have contracted the virus, survived it nicely and then garnered long duration immunity from the experience.

I'm not saying it wasn't a problem or that people were not dying. What I am saying is that the government and their paid tub thumpers were trying to scare us into our own homes by lying to us.

Now the studies are coming out and we have evidence. Covid infections create immunity just as any other infection does. It is the human element which makes the variation and that has always been so.

Ah the 20:20 hindsight thing.

Between Feb 2020 and Feb 2021 some 124,000 people died at a rate of 340 per day. There were times when the death rate was about 500 per day and sometimes over 1,000 per day. We have 210,000 dead so far - the figures are out there.

For eleven of those months we did not have a vaccine and there was no natural immunity so something had to be done during that time, and it was. We had lockdowns, social distancing, staying at home, personal hygiene, anything we could to prevent the virus spreading. Together they worked.

It was all very sensible and had been tried and tested throughout history. We were NOT trolled or lied to except by the anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers and anti-lockdowners... and they are still at it.

Catching a virus and gaining immunity only works if you survive the initial illness, with the alpha - delta variants many did not get to survive. It was only when the much less deadly Omicron strain became dominant that survivor immunity became more widespread. It helped us dodge a bullet.

Lead author Dr Stephen Lim stressed that vaccines are still the safest way to protect yourself, as "acquiring natural immunity must be weighed against the risks of severe illness and death associated with the initial infection".

Not quite what the article headline nor you would have us believe.

I though I had exhausted my stock of outrage, but I haven't.

This afternoon Whitty and Vallance will be summoned before the Science and Technology select committee to explain the 4,000 deaths a day forecast. That should be good.

But the Telegraph has revealled today that the 4,000 deaths a day graph was produced by the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling (SPI-M).
Guess who is a member of this group?

Ferguson admitted that the graph showed a situation whereby the tiered lockdown system had had little effect. In fact infections in Liverpool have halved since October 7th.

So let's be clear. We are shutting down the country, putting hundreds of thousands out of work, increasing deaths by suicide, cancer and heart attacks, delaying the operations of people in great pain, and at least partly on the advice of a man who in private industry would have been sacked many years ago!"

Pariality aside, what the Daily Telegraph has published today is an absolute scandal - but it won't have any repercussions imo.

So let's get started!

On March 22nd 2020 the " Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Behaviours"(SPI-B) produced a paper which stated "A substantial number of people still do not feel sufficiently personally threatened"
"The percieved level of personal threat needs to be increased", "using hard hitting emotional messaging".
The group also recommended "Use media to increase sense of personal threat".
Some members of SAGE now apparently feel "embarassed" by such advice. One SAGE member now says "The British people have been subjected to an unevaluated psychological experiment without being told that is what is happening. All of this is about trying to steer behaviour in the direction an elite has decided, without deciding if it is the right thing or the ethical thing to do".

The Government is weaselling away, saying that all they have done is to repeat facts about the threat that Covid presented. Oh really?

Let's see.
Sept 21 2020 - "UK could have 50,000 Covid cases a day by mid October, say scientific advisers" We didn't.
Sept 22 2020 - "I stand by it, says Professor Neil Ferguson on his claim that 500,000 people could die". They haven't.
February 4 2021 - "Kent variety 30% more deadly than normal strain of Covid". It wasn't.
February 22 2021 - "Tens of thousands more will die as lockdown eases, advisers warn". Yesterday 10 people in the UK died of Covid.
March 10 2021 - "Kent variety twice as deadly, study suggests". No, it isn't.

Predictions presented as though they are certainties have come from Professors Whitty and Vallance. In October last year Vallance warned that the second wave of Covid could kill 4,000 a day. It didn't.Whitty and Vallance predicted another 30,000 people dying after the schools reopened. Didn't happen.

The government have absolutely and unarguably used fear and lies to control their own people. They are denying it, of course.

Trouble is they've done all this at a massive economic cost and a social cost. How many people are going to die because the government closed the NHS down? How many people now have mental health problems (fear induced) because of the governments tactics? How many people do you know, usually cheerful, who have remarked on how low and dismal they feel? How many people have been driven to suicide by the governments deliberate campaign of fear? How many businesses have gone bust? How many people have been scared off of going to hospital and will die because of it?

It's awful; horrible.
We will never ever get an honest inquiry into the government's handling of the covid outbreak.

This isn't hindsight.
There was ample evidence that we were being lied to and deliberately scared at the time of Covid, as the above posts amply prove.

I agree with you Frank.

Andrew Bridgen MP (conservative)lost the Tory whip for comparing Covid vaccines to the holocaust, which was a silly remark.
But he has asked other questions re the pandemic too.
After asking them a few days later he was surprised to have fellow MP's coming up and sympathising, saying that they had no idea that Bridgen had been feelng so low that he was suicidal.
Because Bridgen had never said that he was suicidal. This was someone inside the government throwing mud at him anonymously.

Which proves two things. One that politics really is a dirty business and two that the government wants to forget Covid as quickly as possible. The Covid enquiry is expected to take seven years, as an example, by which time they are hoping that everyone has forgotten about it.

Between Winter 1999 and Spring 2000 there were 48,000 excess deaths. This is analogous to Covid where where a large % of the deaths were "with" covid rather than "of" covid and that remains the same today. The true numbers will never be known.

How many restrictions were there on our lives in the winter of 1999?

The government, NHS and several think tanks colluded to lie to the public about the efficacy of post infection protection. Making out that the only possible way to allow the people to get through the pandemic was to be locked away.

End of story.
